Chrysanthos Crackle Glazes are transparent to semi-transparent low fire glazes which produce a classic crackle effect. Available as clear for application over earthenware bisque / bisque that has been decorated with underglazes, and in a range of colours that may be applied directly to unpainted earthenware bisque.

• Firing range between Cone 06 (999°C) – Cone 04 (1,060°C).
  
  
• Best applied on bisque that has been fired between cone 04 (1,060°C) and cone 03 (1,101°C) - slightly higher than the glaze temperature.
  
  
• 2 – 3 coats should be applied using a well-loaded glaze mop brush. Ensure each coat is dry before applying subsequent coats at right angles to each other.
  
  
• Colours are intermixable within the range.
  
  
• Due to the crackle (crazing) effect, these glazes are not considered food safe.
  
  
• After firing, effects can be emphasised by rubbing ink or other dark contrasting liquid onto the glazed surface, then rubbing it off (leaving the ink in the cracks).
